Archbishop of Enugu Diocese slams Buhari

The Archbishop of the Enugu Ecclesiastic Province, His Grace Dr Emmanuel Chukwuma, has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady Aisha Buhari over their recent comments in the media, saying that their blames and counter-blames constitute a ‘national disgrace’. The First Lady had first raised concerns that her husband’s government had been hijacked by a cabal, with the President retorting that she belonged in the kitchen and other rooms in Aso Rock. Dr Chuwkwuma, who is also the Bishop of Enugu Anglican Communion, believes that the altercation between the President and his wife showed that there was confusion in Aso Rock, warning the two to understand that they are the foremost leaders of the country and should find a more amicable way of settling whatever differences they might have. EFCC Arrests soldiers for diverting fellow soldiers' death benefit

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two military officers and four others for allegedly opening fake accounts to divert N339million benefits of next-of-kin of deceased military officers and men within two months. Two other suspects are at large as the commission launches   a manhunt for them. Some of those whose benefits were diverted are said to have died in the course of the    war   against Boko Haram in the Northeast. According to investigation, the officers arrested were from the Military Pension Board including a Wing Commander and Lt. commander. Their other accomplices were Branch Manager and Relationship Manager of United Bank for Africa (UBA). It was gathered that the auditors of UBA raised the alarm when its auditors discovered that huge parts of the funds were “cashed across the counter in a suspicious manner.” Based on the alert by the bank, the EFCC stepped in to crack how the fraud was perpetrated. Suicide Attack kills at least 8 people in borno by female suicide bomber

AT LEAST eight people were killed and 15 others were wounded when a female suicide bomber detonated her explosives inside a vehicle in the city of Maiduguri in Nigeria's Borno State on 12 October, Al-Jazeera reported. Reports stated that the vehicle was supposed to join a convoy of vehicles that was to be escorted out of the city by security forces. The attacker detonated her explosives before the vehicle joined the convoy. Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, Wilayat Gharb Afriqiyya - formerly known as Boko Haram - was likely responsible.

Three Men Gang-Rape and Butcher 65-Year-Old Woman in Abia

A group of men suspected to be rapists were on Thursday paraded by the Abia State Police Command. One of the suspect, a 24-year-old man identified as Samuel Okorie, alongside his accomplices, allegedly gang-raped a 65-year-old grandmother and killed her afterwards, at the Ofeme area of the state on October 8, at about 9pm. Samuel was paraded alongside 24 suspected criminals at the state police command headquarters in Umuahia.
